Boat Statistics
The model: Dave came back to CT racing after several years away and bought this light and lively boat from Pete Schille as a means of getting back into the hobby in 2010. The boat looks to be steady and Dave is having a good time running boats again. Good to have you back Dave.
The real boat: Built as the "STROH LIGHT" in 1988 by Jon Staudacher, this boat was powered by twin Ford 585 V-8s. The team boasted horsepower equal to or better than it's turbine competitors and a hull weight of 4,000 pounds- about 2,000 pounds less than the turbines. The crew struggled all year with hull and engine problems and the boat was eventually sold to Brian Keogh who entered the 1989 season with a new paintjob and drivers Ron Snyder and Mark Evans. The boats best result of the year came in Miami with a sixth place finish, the team ended the season in 11th place in national points.
