The model: The construction first started in March of '09. But, due to illness, was put off till about late April, when construction began again like mad. "It was the best and most comfortable build I have done thus far," says Tony. He picked the boat to poke fun at himself. "All my life I have heard people call me Tony the Tiger or start singing the song. So why not build it?" It has always been a favorite boat, having grown up watching videos of it racing. Now it's out doing battle. Watch out, the Tiger is coming.

The real boat: The hull started its life in 1988 as the Holset Miss Madison, driven by Ron Snyder. But the driving duty was soon taken over by Mike Hanson. The boat went through a number of name/sponsor changes until Kellogg's stepped in as the main sponsor. When 1993 hit, the boys decided to do something radical with it, paint it like a tiger, and it worked! Everywhere the boat went, the crowds loved it, and you can see why. Its the most unique paintjob done on a boat.  That struck a cord with the majority of fans. The boat is probably best known for the "Trailer start Win" in San Diego. Everyone in the heat either went dead or was penalized, showing that driving with your head is the right way to go. Also, a little luck doesn't hurt. In 1994 the boat got another new sponsor, DeWalt. Then went back to just "Miss Madison" until Oh Boy! Oberto began sponsoring it. The hulls last season was 2006. It was then replaced by the current Oberto. "The Old Girl" is still prepped as backup boat for the Oberto/Madison team.
