Artist Biography
Pete Schille has quickly come to be
known as one of the premiere motor sports artists in the Pacific Northwest. His
interest in motor sports stems from a lifelong obsession with Seattle’s Seafair
races and the Indianapolis 500.
The Unlimited Hydroplane and Raceboat Museum has commissioned paintings over the last several years to commemorate the inductees to the Hydro Hall of Fame. Some of Pete's artwork is now owned by hydro celebrities Fran Muncey, George Henley, Art Oberto and Billy Schumacher.
Pete has also made connections in the world of Indy cars. Car owners Chip
Ganassi and Fred Treadway have commissioned paintings. Pete has also become friends with his racing
hero Arie Luyendyk. Arie has had paintings done for his sponsors as well as
to benefit the Phoenix Children's Hospital.
One of Pete’s paintings hangs at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Pete attended the Praxis School of Art
and claims to still watch all of those painting shows on PBS! Pete received a heart transplant in the
summer of 1990, and now donates time helping local transplant organizations
educate the public on the importance of organ donation.
